First Experience: My first memorable experience took place at my parent's house while I was a teenager. Some nights while I lay awake, a deep sense of terror would come over me. The dog would become agitated, jump on top of my bed, and begin to bark and what seemed to be "nothing." She would walk around the perimeter of the bed and do her best to protect me from whatever it was that was walking down the hall and entering my room. When I had gathered enough courage to run to my parent's room, the dog would relax and the feeling would be gone...just like that.
